FROM THE EDITOR
Dearest Seeples,
Welcome (back) from what we hope was a summer of new adventures, critical policy-making, and excessive sports viewership! I still don’t know how one could pick a sport to watch on any given day between June and September—in New York City of all places. IAB missed you, and so did we.
As the new academic year begins, you may be dusting off your Columbia ID, remembering what Stellic is, or re-acquainting yourselves with our beloved elevators. Trust, you are not alone. A fresh batch of bombshells have just entered the IAB villa, and they have no idea what’s coming for them. As The Morningside Post, we hope that On The Pitch can provide the young ones some guidance, inspire some newfound criticism, and introduce them to everything we love, hate and incessantly complain about—in addition to raving about sports galore.
With a new semester comes new challenges, ideas, and connections. As you figure out internships alongside lunch spots, we’re committed to giving you compelling, independent writing produced by your very own. Student journalism holds not only a responsibility for objective grassroots reporting but also a dedication to creativity and fun. We promise to light your year up with great writing, hot gossip, and new ways to think about SIPA. As always, thank you for accompanying us on this journey; we wouldn’t be who we are without you.
Happy reading!

A Seeple’s Guide to Election Day
In the coming months, many of us will have an opportunity to engage directly with the political processes in our home countries through local and national elections. As policy students, we study the impact—whether direct or indirect—that such decisions have, and appreciate the importance of political participation. Although it may not be possible for every Seeple, if you have the ability, take this chance to step outside of the classroom and lend your voice to the policies you believe will create a better world.
