FROM THE EDITOR
Dearest Seeples,
The piles of snow on the crosswalks may have melted away, but the lightness of spring is yet to come—both to New York City and the world at large. Since The Morningside Post’s last issue, the whims of global leaders and CEOs alike have continued to dictate the lives of billions. Uncertainty permeates through Leadership in Action recitations, major airports, the entire Middle East, and Columbia’s very own gates. In this avalanche of unpredictability, the only thing that remains certain is the unknown itself. We never know what the next hour holds—for foreign policy, technology, or human rights, let alone the whole architecture of SIPA.
Melting Point reminds us that politics changes just like New York City seasons: somehow both gradually and abruptly, often with zero warning. Leaders are increasingly not held accountable for their actions as institutions fail to serve as guardrails. Interventionism and violence unfold as we scramble to secure our future in an increasingly chaotic world. Our talented contributors, staff writers, and section editors address some of the most elusive happenings of today through sharp analysis and a touch of humor. Whether remarking on autocratic situationships, cascading AI lawsuits, or the men of SIPA, Melting Point is as sharp as the cold snaps of fool’s spring in New York City.
I hope Melting Point teaches you something new, makes you leave your phone at home, or has you giggling in line for the Publique microwaves.

SIPA's new mandatory leadership course costs students $4,200 and 22 hours of their lives. An overwhelming majority say it was worth neither.
